I love anything that is neutral and made from natural materials. That’s how I ended up having this beauty in my basket. Its speckled and vintage look caught my eye. Then I didn’t knew what it was, but I knew it was something different. I always do my research on an item when I get home, so that I can scream out with happiness, when I find the real unique story behind my pick.
The McCoy Pottery has a very interesting history, n so Its a collectors pick.. Its an American company founded in Roseville, Ohio in April 1910. Roseville was rich with clay. As the company brought employment opportunities, recognition and revenue to Roseville so the land was given to the company for free. The founder, Nelson McCoy (senior), established the company as the Nelson McCoy Sanitary and Stoneware Company, to produce utilitarian stoneware items. A change of direction took place in 1933 when the company responded to consumer interest and began to focus more on the manufacture of decorative items and less on utilitarian wares. The company changed hands during the years, and finally closed in 1990.
